We are so thrilled to have Heather and Nick’s gorgeous vintage-Italian inspired wedding featured on Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book Blog! With incredible attention to detail, Heather and the “moms” painstakingly designed and hand crafted nearly all of the decor and special touches. It was such a treat for us to photograph this incredibly unique wedding! Of course, having a very good looking, fun loving couple (and bridal party) who were totally into getting beautiful photos around Old Town, San Diego, was pretty fabulous, as well! Our fashion story was shot deep in an abandoned rock quarry. Our fearless ladies hiked, scrambled up rocks, and jumped across streams to get to the perfect locations!

Live It Up! Acqua Photo featured in Latter Day Bride Magazine 2010
We are excited to be included in the 2010 Latter Day Bride Magazine, in bookstores now! The theme of this year’s magazine is “Live It Up! NEW Winter Fashion & Beauty Shoots for Reinventing Beauty
The new winter Reinventing Beauty Magazine is out! Check it out at CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens nationwide.
This fashion shoot was a lot of fun because it presented a special challenge: How to shoot in Southern California, on location (in 80 degree weather!) and somehow portray a sense of winter. After a lot of brainstorming, and wishing for snow in San Diego(!), the epiphany of shooting at Disney Concert Hall materialized. The clean, sleek architecture and slate gray palette set the mood for an icy cold feel, without being too literal. It is also a perfect compliment to the winter inspired (but not covered head to toe!) wardrobe. We wanted to show what to wear under the coat, hat and scarf this season to look sexy, stylish, and cool.

Summer Fashion with Survivor’s Sydney Wheeler
I was browsing CVS today and to my delight found the new summer issue of Reinventing Beauty Magazine with my fashion editorial featuring Sydney Wheeler! For those of you who don’t watch Survivor, Sydney was the gorgeous blonde on the latest Tocantins edition of the show. She also happens to be a Cardiff by the Sea girl and a really cool chick.

Sun-kissed and barefoot, hair tousled by the ocean wind, they played together under the pure blue sky…
Our Trash the Dress session with Jen & Rhett was simply magical. The exuberance and joy that these two exude is contagious. They are is so in love, so youthful and full of life. These images bring a smile to my face every time I see them and make me think of how special it is to enjoy life with the one you love.
Holiday Hair & Sculpted Arms Fitness Editorials!
Most of the clients I work with know that in addition to shooting weddings and portraits, I LOVE shooting fashion and beauty! As a kid, I loved dressing my friends up, doing their makeup and hair and taking stylish pictures of them.
Getting paid to do the same thing as an adult is pure heaven :)
In November, I had the opportunity to collaborate with 2 beautiful models and Flora Wade (my fave San Diego makeup and hair stylist) to create a Holiday Hair feature for the magazine Reinventing Beauty. The editors gave us total freedom to invent festive hair styles that are holiday party worthy, but easy to do yourself at home. We gave the looks a vintage twist and produced some rockin images! Here are the tears from the winter edition of Reinventing Beauty magazine, available nationwide in CVS stores:

Also in this issue of Reinventing Beauty is a fitness spread featuring one of my gorgeous friends, Rose! (You might recognize her from our Trash the Dress Sand Dunes series!) We were staying with her and her husband Taylor in Colorado when I got the fitness assignment, and she is just so sexy and fit, I begged her to model for me.
