Vintage Del Mar Engagement Session

Clement & Gaby’s Balboa Park Engagement Session was soooo much fun!  They are such a stylish, fun, and cute couple. Although, the session almost started out in wardrobe disaster!  As soon as I arrived to meet them, Clement was walking back to his car with a somewhat bummed-out look on his face. When I asked him what was wrong, he said “As we were hanging out before meeting up with you, a bird took a poo on the shoulder of my shirt! What are the odds!?!” Luckily, he had taken my advice and brought back-ups ;)  Their Balboa Park Engagement Session went really well.  They were very natural and playful in front of the camera.  I loved how they were open to trying my ideas, and we got to shoot at some of my fav Balboa Park Engagement Session spots.  I really enjoy photographing couples who are so clearly smitten… they couldn’t keep their hands off one another!!!

Wardrobe malfunction #2 happened when we were getting out of the cars at Scripps Seaside Forum.  They did a wardrobe change and Gaby realized that she had left her cute jean shorts at home.  Unlike Clement, she didn’t have another option!  Being the incredibly dedicated photographer that I am, there was very little hesitation in my voice as I found myself saying “You can wear mine!”  So I wore an extra pair of Clement’s pants (he was so well-prepared), Gaby wore my shorts, and Clement just laughed his head off.  Looking at the photos, you’d never guess we didn’t plan it that way.  It turned out to be a pretty hilarious moment that I doubt any of us will soon forget.

“OMG, OMG, OMG, the pictures are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous. I have tears in my eyes looking through them.  Thank you so much for everything you did to make our day special (and the days leading up to the wedding, including the amazing engagement session) and for capturing all of the special moments.

You both are so talented and we are so grateful to you for everything. We have several friends that just got engaged…we have been ranting and raving about you !

Joe and Michelle”
