Scripps Seaside Pier Rock the Dress

What the heck is a Rock the Dress session?  This Scripps Seaside Pier Rock the Dress is a perfect example.  We like to think of the Rock the Dress session as a post-wedding fashion shoot.   You can schedule them at the perfect time of day for great light, choose a killer location, and have no stress about a little sand or dirt on your dress. :)  The Rock the Dress session is awesome because we can get a ton of gorgeous romantic photos in a location that might not have been possible within the constraints of your wedding day timeline.  It really does tend to alleviate a lot of the stress of alloting enough time for romantic portraits on your wedding day timeline.  Plus, you get to be all dolled up and wear that gorgeous gown again!

Catherine and Alan were having a morning wedding and knew it wouldn’t fit into their timeline to shoot at the beach.  We recommended a Rock the Dress Session at the famous Scripps Pier in La Jolla, since their wedding reception was at George’s in the cove (with a beautiful view of the pier).  I love the idea of creating stunning landscapes that a couple feels proud to display on their walls as art.

FROM THE COUPLE

“Jen and Shane did a fantastic job shooting both our wedding and “engagement photos” on the beach at sunset the day before our wedding! When Alan and I were discussing how we wanted to budget for our very small & intimate wedding, we both decided that good photos were at the top of our priority list. We chose to get married in San Diego for its beautiful beaches and photo potential.

Jen and Shane exceeded all of our expectations. Despite never meeting with us in person before we arrived at the beach for our photo session, Jen instantly made both of us feel comfortable, despite our reserved nature. We had warned Jen and Shane that we weren’t very photogenic, but their easy-going nature allowed us to be ourselves and ended up making us look much better than we could have hoped! On top of that, Jen and Shane picked awesome spots for our photos, which was helpful as Alan and I were completely unfamiliar with the area.

On our wedding day, Jen and Shane gracefully sidestepped family drama and awkwardness (including family members that kept jumping in front of them with their $99 point-and-shoot cameras), and got great pictures of all of our guests and wedding details.

We wish we lived closer to Jen and Shane, because we’d rebook with them for any event in a heartbeat!”
